Tree of Life Cross

This is a beautiful, symbolic Christian cross inspired by early-medieval and Byzantine motifs, often called a “Budded Cross with Doves and the Tree of Life”.

Meaning of the design:

• The central plant is the Tree of Life, growing from the base of the cross. It represents Christ Himself (the true Vine) and the life-giving power of the Cross.
• Three buds/leaves at the top symbolize the Holy Trinity and the resurrection/renewal of life.
• Two doves  are classic symbols of the Holy Spirit, peace, purity, and the soul of the faithful. In early Christian art, doves drinking from or resting near the Tree of Life also recall the souls in Paradise.
• The overall shape is a softly rounded Greek cross with trefoil (three-lobed) ends, a very ancient form that emphasizes life and victory rather than suffering.
