“I Am the True Vine” Cross

This is a classic and deeply symbolic design known as the “I Am the True Vine” Cross or Grapevine Cross.

Meaning of the symbolism:

• The entire cross is formed by a living grapevine with leaves, tendrils, and clusters of grapes wrapping around and growing from the crossbeam.
• Directly inspired by Jesus’ words in John 15:5: “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him bears much fruit.”
• The vine represents Christ Himself; the branches and grapes symbolize the faithful who remain united to Him and bear spiritual fruit.
• In Orthodox and Catholic tradition, the grapes also prefigure the Eucharist (wine becoming the Blood of Christ).
